"Embrace": One woman's journey to inspire everyBODY
A screening of the critically acclaimed film "Embrace", which explores the issue of body image, follow's Taryn's crusades as she interviews a variety of women about the alarming rates of body image issues that are seen in people of all body types.
This event is brought to you through a partnership between the Sunrise Health Region and the Yorkton Film Festival.

When: Thursday, May 4, 2017; Doors open at 7:00pm and film begins at 7:30pm
Where: Godfrey Dean Cultural Centre, 49 Smith Street East (use 3rd Ave N entrance), Yorkton, SK
Cost: Free to attend. There will be a silver donation at the door with all proceeds donated to a local charity.
Chemical Dependency Community Education Course 2017
A 3-day interactive course to enhance and facilitate community awareness and understanding of alcohol and other drug related issues and concepts. Topics include the profile of the alcoholic, alcohol the drug, family dynamics of addiction, stages of adolescent chemical use, the relapse and recovery process, an RCMP presentation and Alcoholics Anonymous/12-Step history.
When: Mondays, May 1, 8 and 15, 2017; 9:00am to 4:00pm daily with lunch on your own
Where: Yorkton Regional Health Centre, Mental Health Auditorium, 270 Bradbrooke Drive
Cost: No cost to attend; pre-registration is required. It is necessary to attend all 3 days of the course with 25 maximum participants.

Alzheimer and Dementia Support/Information Group Meeting
When: 2nd Wednesday of every month @ 2:00 p.m.
Where: Yorkton Crossing Retirement Community, 348 Morrison Drive, Yorkton

The support group is open to all caregivers with no fee to attend.

It is recommended to register early in your pregnancy for classes. Each series provides information on pregnancy, labour and delivery, coping strategies, infant feeding, and postpartum adjustment. Classes include lectures, videos, and interactive participation. Husbands/partners/support persons are encouraged to attend.
Yorkton prenatal classes are offered during an all day course one Saturday a month at the Public Health office, 150 Independent Street, Yorkton.
